CDC National Lead Poisoning Prevention Training Center

Under contract to CDC, Solutions, NCHH's wholly owned for-profit subsidiary, developed the curricula and training materials, and secured seven nationally known plenary speakers and eight highly qualified faculty members for CDC's five-day National Lead Poisoning Prevention Training Center.

The training is being offered to CDC-funded state and city Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP) employees who are new to their programs and/or to lead poisoning prevention. The four training track topics, with six modules in each, include Primary Prevention, Program Management, Case Management, and Data and Surveillance. Three training sessions were presented by Solutions in 2005, with up to 75 students attending each session. One training was held in April, 2006 with 65 students attending, and another training will take place in October. Two more trainings are scheduled for 2007.

The three program tracks being offered at the October training are:

Staff of CDC-funded CLPPP, their sub-grantees, and other state and local staff involved in childhood lead poisoning prevention activities are eligible to attend the training.

Training participants will receive certificates of course completion. Continuing education credits are available upon request through Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.
