Lead Specs for Housing Developers

Lead-contaminated dust and debris are particularly dangerous to children under the age of six.

Housing developers, owners and rehabilitation specialists are often looking for specifications on specific lead treatments….exact directions for a contractor on how to undertake lead hazard reduction. Two tools are available to help.  Both were written by The Enterprise Foundation for general rehabilitation projects, and therefor include rehabilitation specs in addition to lead specs, but both are useful.

Master Rehab Specifications (second edition) - includes specific, how-to instructions for inspection, spec writing and cost estimating; instructions and sample formats of how to assemble a work write-up; over 300 state-of-the-art lead paint treatment specs; unit pricing for every specification; and spec language to inform a contractor of the owner's required building materials and installation methods for each item. Includes a 3.5 disc, manual, sample inspection checklist, sample reports and the specifications.

The price is $45. It may be ordered on-line at www.bookmasters.com or by calling 1-800-247-6553.

Housing Developer Pro - This automated construction management system includes the Master Rehab Specifications (including the lead specs) plus all the other tools needed to manage a complex construction project. Built upon The Enterprise Foundation's wealth of experience in housing development, Housing Developer Pro (HDP) software is the newest and best automation tool for producers of low and moderate income housing.

With the Windows-based program, you can start entering data into the program immediately. HDP will use the information to produce the documents you need, when you need them - tracking program histories and project milestones, creating written specifications and cost estimates, generating and tracking change orders and construction draws, and maintaining contacts.

The Enterprise Foundation has worked to create a holistic software system to handle an increasing amount of project and program data needs. Each year they enhance current functions, and add new modules based on user feedback.

The price is $450 for 1-3 users, $750 for 4-6 users, and $900 for 7 or more users. Order online at www.bookmasters.com or call 1-800-247-6553.
