"An Insider's guide to Lead-Safe Painting and Home Improvement"

The "Insider's Guide..." is a colorful, one page fold-out manual that was develped by the New England Lead Coordinating Council, for hardware stores to give to their customers buying painting and remodeling tools.

Removing paint that contains lead is the most hazardous part of a painting or home improvememt project. Anybody involved in painting or renovating older homes (especially those built prior to 1950) needs to be familiar with basic safety guidelines for minimizing the amount of lead contaminated dust that is generated.

This guide provides simple guidelines for safe paint removal, including the materials needed, techniques to use, and clean-up after the job is complete.
